Advocacy
Advocated and testified for SB124 and HB150
While working on her Food waste composting program, Shrusti was approached by multiple schools and organisations to implement the project on their premises. Some of the schools were facing funding issues for implementing the program. Shrusti felt the high need to help in fundraising and hence advocated for SB124 and HB150. Her program’s resounding success garnered recognition, leading the Maryland legislature to create and pass bills SB124 and HB150 for a Grant Program to Reduce and Compost School Waste. The bill has been approved by the Governor and funded to give $250,000 for 100 schools across Maryland to start their programs.
